Will Smith Home (PHOTOS): Will Smith And Jada Pinkett Smith Open Up Their Calabasas Home

Architectural Digest is featuring the Calabasas, California home of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith in an issue that hits newsstands August 9.

This is the first time that the Smith family has opened up its home to the public. Their 25,000 square-foot Calabasas house was designed for them by architect Stephen Samuelson. He tells the magazine that the house was inspired by “various interpretations of adobe in Persian, Moroccan, Spanish, as well as Southwest American cultures."

According to a press release, Will says that the concept behind the home's circuitous floor plan was “no dead ends…to create an infinite cycle that represented what Jada and I hoped for our love.” Jada adds that “for Will and me this home was always a spiritual endeavor…we’re very earthy, organic people. We wanted to create a family retreat, something made by hand and as natural as possible, something that ties back to the land."

In an interview on NBC's Today Show, Architectural Digest's editor-in-chief Margaret Russell told Ann Curry that the magazine was able to get a glimpse into the Smith Home because Will and Jada had found their architect through two different articles from the publication.
